Christian Trail Riders Fellowship
Clackamas County
Hi Everyone!
We had 10 people show up for the regular potluck/meeting on Feb 22,
2009. Dave W. shared some insight into the covenant we have with God, our family
and our country. We had some good discussion and prayer time. Amy and/or Mike
will be leading us on some scriptural insight at the next meeting.
Judy gave an update on finances. We had $367. Added $19.50 (bottle
return – thanks Pete and Ted for donating and John for taking them to the
store) Total came to 386.50. We allocated $20 for the tack sale booth fee, $140
for another case of Cowboy Bibles and $30 for sponsoring Jackline in Uganda. The
balance we now have in petty cash is $196.50. We donated a CTRF t-shirt, hat and
bible to the OET state roundup for the booth.

Other Agenda Items
*Uganda – Many of us met over at Doug’s home
on Feb 8th to discuss and pray about CTRF’s involvement with Uganda and the
possibility of us doing a fundraiser to help the children over there. For now,
CTRF will not be adding additional support to this mission field. We will
continue to sponsor Jackline as well as keeping Pastor Joseph and the various
teams and networks in our prayers. Doug plans to get in touch with some of the
already established groups and people that are doing work over there and report
back to us. We will prayerfully continue our involvement as the Lord directs us.
*God’s leading…God has made it possible for
CTRF to do more domestic missions. Last year we helped Doug P. with a two-day
horse weekend with the inner city kids of NE Portland Fellowship 4 Square Church
& Inner-City Sports. This year we may be doing 3 separate weekends. Two of
them will most likely focus on the boys and one weekend will be for the girls.
Possible dates are June 26, 27 & 28 – July 10, 11 & 12 – July
17, 18 & 19 or July 24, 25 & 26. It’s a wonderful camping/horse
experience for kids that have little opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and
handling/riding horses. We will be helping with organization, food
purchase/preparation, teaching/assisting and donating our horses and time to a
great outreach in God’s name. Want to know more…or help??? Call Doug at
503-799-6201. We will keep you posted.
* BayOcean House Annual pre-summer Retreat With the
horses! – May 29, 30 & 31, 2009. This is our 4th year.
Every year brings new faces and new memories. The cost is minimal…just gas
over to Tillamook, your food and stall rent at the fair grounds ($15 per horse,
per night). We will have a potluck on Sat. night and church service on Sunday
morn. There are 4 stalls at the house (only 1 called for). We ride on the Bay
Ocean Spit just 2 miles from the house. Call John or Gemma if you plan to go or
if you need more details at 503-824-2405 home/ 503-307-1484 Gem’s cell. Email
Gemma at gemma@bayocean.com. Go to www.bayocean.com
to see pictures and information. We will add more details in next month’s
newsletter.
*Quinn Meadow Family Camp – August 21, 22 23, 2009.
Our goal is to get as many of us up there as we can for at least these 3 nights.
We have 4 sites reserved for the 16th – the 30th (2 full
weeks). You must let Judy if you want to go and need room for some or all of
these 2 weeks. Call her at 503-630-5846 to discuss options. You may be sharing
with others if you don’t need all 4 stalls. Or you may try to reserve a site
on your own. Go to www.recreation.gov
or call 1-877-444-6777. They require weed-free hay.
*Peewee Junior Rodeo Church services. It looks like we may not be doing any church services due to a change of leadership and scheduling conflicts. We will let you know if this changes.

The next regular scheduled PPPP meeting will be on March 29th at the Colton Fire Station at 20987 S. Hwy 211 Colton, OR 97017. The potluck starts at 5:30pm. Hope to see you there!
Have
mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me,
for
in you my soul takes refuge.
I
will take refuge in the shadow of your wings
until
the disaster has passed
I
cry out to God Most High, to God, who fulfills his purpose for me.
He
sends from heaven and saves me,
rebuking
those who hotly pursue me;
God
sends his love and his faithfulness.

57: 1-3
