CTRF
April
26th meeting
had 8 people present. We also had a special meeting on April 19th to discuss
youth camps for the summer and a work party at Doug’s to help him get his
house ready to sell. We decided to do the work party on May 2nd.
April
18th Sportsman Show report: CTRF
had a table at the Nazarene Sportsman Show. We had quite a few people interested
and added some new names to our ranks. Welcome to Tim, Adrienne & Randy. The
show, as always, was a blast! Mike
& Amy K. & Linda J. were active organizers of this event.
April
19th meeting
had 8 people show up. At this meeting we discussed dates and did program
planning for the youth camps. Inner City Youth & the Inner City 4 Square
Church haven’t confirmed any dates yet so they are still on hold. However, Molalla
Nazarene Youth wants to have an event so Mike K. is going forward with
confirming insurance and dates for June 26th and 27th.
Looks like there will be approx. 30 kids from 6th grade thru high school. We
will have stations where the kids will work with & ride the horses, play
games, have a scavenger hunt, learn rope tying. There will also be great food,
camping, music, fishing, wading in the creek & worship messages and
challenges. This event will take place at Doug’s. on Hwy 211,
between Colton and Molalla. To help and for more info. call Mike
503-209-7622 or Doug 503-799-6201.
Gemma
is also working with her church, Oregon City Evangelical, coordinating a horse
segment to add to their Summer “BLAST”(Bible Learning And Skill
Training) program. OCEC will have 3 separate day camps…Gemma will be bringing
2 horses Aug. 10, 11, 12, and 13th. Ages will be 2nd
–6th grade. This is
not a CTRF event, but Gemma welcomes anyone who is interested in helping to
contact her at 503-307-1484. All helpers need to get approved thru the church
(background check, etc). For more information on “BLAST” go to www.ocec.net
or call 503-656-8582.
May
2nd work party.
Many people showed up to help Doug out. More than 12 people were roaming the
property. About 7 were from CTRF. It rained some, but we got a lot done. More
work is still pending so if you have a spare hour or two, call Doug at
503-799-6201.
Ride
report:
Sorry
we didn’t report on March rides. Mike said 2-4 people showed up for each one.
April
11th
- Three riders showed up at McIver. The weather held and we had the place almost
to ourselves.
April
25th
- Fourteen riders showed up at Elwood. For those of you that came we are sorry
that the ride was a bit confusing…to say the least. We will make every effort
to help things run smoother next time. It was just one of those off rides that
had a handful of things that went wrong. Thank God no one got hurt. Please
don’t let this one “frustrating” ride deter you from joining us again.

*Budget:
We received $30 back from the Sportsman Show deposit + we sold 2 shirts for $20.
Expenses for May are $30 Jackline for Uganda monthly sponsorship, $101.80 –
order of CTRF logo t-shirts (most will come back as the shirts sell), $35 Fourth
of July Parade fee. Total $166.80. Ending balance after May expenses is $137.65.
*PeeWee
Rodeo at the Molalla Buckaroo grounds…We
may be back on for Church Services! Pee Wee Rodeo dates are July 11,12 – July
25, 26 – Aug 8, 9 – Aug 29, 30. CTRF sponsored cowboy church would be Sunday
mornings around 8 or 9am. There are
discrepancies on the July 12th date if we end up having an inner city
youth camp that weekend…may be too much! Also Aug. 30th most of us
will be at Quinn Meadow, so we won’t be doing this Sunday church service for
sure. We will let you know as dates and times get confirmed.
*Parades
in Molalla - Buckaroo Grounds:
Kiddie
Parade will be on Thurs., July 2nd at 6pm.
There is no cost for this event. CTRF has been participating in the parade of
many years…it has become an annual tradition. Age of kids that can ride is up
to 14 years old. Parents, banner holders & walkers are all involved. It is
so much fun getting the horses and kids ready and watching them enjoy their
ride. You need to be there by 4pm if you want to be in it. Theme TBA. Call Judy
for more info. 503-630-5846.
For more information on the Buckaroo events go to www.molallachamber.com.
The
next PPPP (praise, prayer, planning & potluck) meeting will be on Sunday May
24th starting at 5:30pm. We meet at the Colton Fire Station 20987 S.
Hwy 211 Colton, OR 97017. Hope to see some of you there. No meeting on Sun. May
31st due to the BOH retreat.
in
Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.
For
we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who
are perishing.
To
the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life.
And
who is equal to such a task?
Unlike
so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit.
On
the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity,
like
men sent from God.
